Police say a mother and her child were stabbed by another woman following an altercation at the Giant Eagle on Monday afternoon. Multiple officials from the North Olmsted Police Department, North Olmsted Fire Department, and EMS were dispatched to the Giant Eagle in the 27200 block of Lorain Road for an assault report.

Suspect Identified

Law enforcement agencies identified the suspect involved in the double attack as 32-year-old Bionca Ellis, of Cleveland, Ohio. Bionca is a mother of three and a child Care at Cuyahoga County.

Police Investigations

According to preliminary investigations, the suspect and the adult victim were involved in a physical altercation. Bionca Ellis stabbed the woman and her 2-year-old child at the scene before fleeing. She was located and arrested by the law enforcement agencies investigating the incident. “We are aware of the reported incident and are working with the authorities. For the moment, they (the authorities) are the best source for information,” the establishment wrote in a statement to the media.
