Chase Yarns Clarks Summit PA: 26-year-old Word of Life Bible Institute alumnus has died

26-year-old Clarks Summit native Chase C. Yarns has died. Chase’s smile, laugh, sense of humor, and quick wit will be missed by everyone who knew him. Yarns was raised as a proud member of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church in Scranton and was recently an active member of both Steamtown Church in Scranton and Hawthorne Gospel Church in Hawthorne, NJ, and a Word of Life Bible Institute 2021 alumnus.

Who was Chase C. Yarns?

Chase was born in 1998 at CMC in Scranton. He was the son of Amy and Chief Christopher Yarns of Clarks Summit and was part of the first set of quadruplets born in northeastern Pennsylvania. Chase was a graduate of Abington Heights High School in 2016 and was a member of the cross-country and track and field teams. He attended and graduated from Word of Life Bible Institute in Pottersville, NY, and later graduated from Clarks Summit University in Clarks Summit, PA. Chase’s hard work was recognized at both Word of Life and CSU as a graduate with high honors (4.0 GPA).

Chase was a loving and caring son, brother, and uncle. He was a man of deep faith and had a love for his church and helping others. Chase enjoyed the outdoors, going on runs and hikes, traveling, and spending time with his family. He put his passions into action. His love of music brought him to teach himself guitar; his love of running carried him from high school track and cross-country teams to completing the Steamtown Marathon in 2022; and his love of people led him to join various clubs and organizations that all shared a common interest in helping and working with others.
