Emily Tropeano Carbondale PA Death, Carbondale High School Graduate Has Sadly Passed Away

Carbondale Area School District informed the community Wednesday that a 2024 graduate died. Emily Tropeano died Tuesday, according to Larry Gabriel, Carbondale High School assistant principal. Superintendent Holly W. Sayre said in a release to the district’s website. “We are devasted by this loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family,”

Sayre provided information about how students and parents might best deal with the loss.

“A sudden loss like this can have a strong emotional effect in students,” she said in the release. “For that reason, please listen to what your child may have to say regarding the death and discuss his/her feelings and reactions.”
Tropeano graduated with academic honors on June 2. She was a member of the cheerleading squad, according to the district website. She did a senior internship with the City of Carbondale.
