Tributes From Family And Friends

Friends of Deshazer paid tribute to him on Facebook: ”My friend Jeff Deshazer, we were supposed to be having dinner tonight. We were supposed to present together this week. But those things are not to be. You always brought the biggest smile to whatever room you were in. It was such a privilege to champion school education with you. I loved every time that we got to share a stage together. Natalie Woog Elliott and I spent the evening talking about you and how our team will never be the same without you. I am praying for Mikey and the rest of your family. Rest in peace, my friend. Until we see each other again.” Stearns wrote on Facebook.

”My heart is so shattered. We lost a light in the hair world this weekend. Daddy Jeff was there the first time I took the stage with Pulp Riot Hair in 2021. On my drive to show I think I cried 4 times because I was so anxious. Jeff Deshazer met me with open arms the second I walked into the hotel, we hugged forever (even though it was our first time meeting- but that was just DJ being DJ) I immediately felt better! We sat and talked for hours (& had a few tequila shots) until he helped me gain the confidence to get on that stage! Immediately after that show I started calling you Daddy Jeff because you treated each and every one of us like we were your own!

Jeff was with me at almost every single stage event I did until recent! He sat in the back of every class room at ABS cheering me on telling any and everyone he knew (or didn’t know) that I would be a star! He believed in me before I ever did. I’m going to miss our late night chats, you laughing with me at my horrific dating stories, all of the love and advice I didn’t think I deserved but most certainly needed & all of the incredible stories you would share with the team! I’m so incredibly grateful to have a friend and mentor like Daddy Jeff! I love you forever and always- rest easy my beautiful friend until we meet again.” Vellender wrote on Facebook.
