Jim Beardmore Maryland Death: Former All-American lacrosse goalie and coach has died

Former All-American lacrosse goalie and coach has died. The deceased has been identified as Jim Beardmore, a resident of Annapolis, Maryland. Jim Beardmore, formerly the head coach for the Hamburg Warriors B-Team, passed away yesterday, Tuesday, June 4th, 2024. Thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

Maryland Men’s Lacrosse wrote on its Facebook page:

“The Maryland Lacrosse family is saddened to learn of the passing of Jimmy Beardmore (‘87). Jimmy was the 1987 Goalie of the Year, a First Team All-American and the ACC Player of the Year. Now, he will #BeTheBest angel. Our hearts go out to the Beardmore family during this time.”

Jim Beardmore Biography

Jim was the beloved son of former University of Maryland coach and Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee Clayton “Buddy” Beardmore. He graduated from The Severn School in Severna Park, MD. After high school, he went on to study at the University of Maryland. Jim was awarded the Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award as the NCAA’s Goalie of the Year in 1987.

He was also awarded a first-team All-American, the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, and a first-team All-ACC selection. Jim spent five seasons in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League, playing with the Washington Wave and the Pittsburgh Bulls.

Jim was the head coach for the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse during the 2007 season. In addition, he has been the head coach at many high schools, including Severna Park, and is the director of Nike Lacrosse Summer Camps and All-American Sports Camps. He was Colorado Academy’s Head Lacrosse Coach during the 2008 season.

There was no cause of death reported for Jim Beardmore at the time of this publication.
