Lyndsey Captain Vicknair Death: The Round Rock Police Department has issued a description of the suspect as well as the identities of the victims who were shot at the Juneteenth celebration in Old Settlers Park on Saturday night.

Juneteenth Concert Mass Shooting Victim  Identified

The victims who died in the shooting were identified as 33-year-old Lyndsey Vicknair, of Manor, and 54-year-old Ara Duke, of Pflugerville. Round Rock police said neither victim was involved in the altercation. A total of 14 people, ranging in age from 10 to 62, were taken to surrounding hospitals; as of June 16 at 6 p.m., the majority had been released, according to Banks.

Police Statement

“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the tragic loss of innocent lives and the injuries sustained by several others in Saturday’s senseless act of violence. Our deepest condolences go out to the families affected by this tragedy. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community and will work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice. Together, we will stand strong and support one another during this difficult time for our community,” said Chief Allen Banks in a statement.

Family Statement

Lyndsey Captain Vicknair’s husband Kevin X Vicknair released the following statement following the tragic incident; ” My Queen Lyndsey Captain Vicknair was killed in a mass shooting in Round Rock TX during the Juneteenth concert last night. It was just her and I, I’m happy we left the kids at home. I did everything I could to keep her with us. Please pray for our babies. Kenzi (7), Kairo (4), Kya (1). Thanks for all the support from family and friends who drove hours to get to us last night.”

You wouldn’t believe how she has elevated me and our children time and time again. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without you my love. I’m so sorry I couldn’t get you back home safely.

Round Rock Shooting Suspect Identified

Law enforcement is looking for a Black male around 19 to 20, 5’7″, with a skinny physique and short dreadlocks. He was last spotted sporting a white hoodie. He is considered armed and dangerous. Those still Those currently in the hospital are in stable condition and are expected to be released over the next several days. Banks stated that they were interviewing several witnesses at the event.

According to RRPD, the shooting started overnight amid a dispute between two groups at Old Settlers Park at about 10:50 p.m. The event occurred near the festival’s vendor section, rather than the main stage. In addition, the Round Rock Police Department is asking the public to submit any images or video evidence here. The ATF is also offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s) implicated.
