Rock Hill Shooting Today: Man shoots, kills co-worker during argument in Rock Hill

According to the Rock Hill Police Department, a woman is dead after an argument between coworkers escalated on Wednesday. Police were called to Riverwalk Parkway near Celriver Road just after 3 p.m. on June 19 for reports of a shooting. They arrived to find a woman shot in the chest and arrested a man at the scene.

The woman was taken to the Piedmont Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Investigators believe that the woman and man were coworkers at a nearby store who got into an altercation at work. The woman got into a car driven by an acquaintance, 32-year-old Brittney Reed of Lancaster. When the man got into his car and drove off, Reed block his car with hers.

The female coworker then walked up to the man’s window with a handgun, and he pulled out his own handgun, shooting the female coworker, according to authorities. Reed punched the man in the face but left him alone after he yelled at her to get away. He waited for police to arrive.

Police Statement

Police say the shooting was in self-defense so the man is not being charged. Reed has been arrested and charged with assault and battery.

Two guns were found at the crime scene. The investigation is still ongoing.
