Rolla Shooting: Active shooter suspect arrested after shooting and pursuit

A suspect is now in custody following a shooting at a Rolla pharmacy and high-speed pursuit across Phelps County.

What happened at Rolla pharmacy?

Rolla Police Chief Sean Fagan reported to Phelps County Focus on Wednesday the suspect entered Sinks Pharmacy on 10th Street armed with an AR-15 rifle because he said he “needed drugs.” Fagan said he then shot an employee of the pharmacy in the leg before fleeing eastbound on State Route BB with multiple law enforcement vehicles in pursuit.

Near St. James, Fagan said the suspect turned around, striking a sheriff’s vehicle and police car before heading westbound towards Rolla. Fagan said he authorized a pit maneuver to drive the vehicle from the road, and the suspect was taken into custody with neither the officer or suspect injured.

Fagan said the identity of the suspect will be released once formal charges are filed. Phelps County Focus will report additional information as it’s confirmed.
