After graduating from Memorial High School and the University of Texas at Austin, she went on to a dazzling career in public relations. The PR Fairy And Career

Susan wove together her work, passions, Jewish identity, and sense of style into a seamless tapestry. From early childhood, Susan embodied the mitzvah of tikkun olam, or healing the world. As a board member of the Aubrey and Sylvia Farb Community Fund at Congregation Emanu El, Susan did invaluable outreach to under-resourced community organizations in need of seed money. Always a proud Houstonian, Susan was a tireless advocate for local causes, the arts, the Jewish community, and disability inclusion. Through her promotion of events and organizations such as the Bayou City Art Festival, Texas Music Festival, and Jewish Books and Arts Fair, Susan helped ensure that the arts would flourish in Houston.

She served on the Jewish Community Center Arts and Culture Committee, the Interfaith Ministries’ IMpower Steering Committee, the board of Jewish Family Services, and she chaired ReelAbilities for two years. She championed these causes with complete enthusiasm. In 2019, Houston Woman Magazine recognized Susan as one of Houston’s most influential women, recognizing her diverse contributions to the greater community. In Susan’s self-described “Inspirement,” the PR Fairy worked her fairy dust magic to promote community, connection and meaning for the greater good.

Susan was a light to all who knew her. She built a beautiful and welcoming home for her husband, David, daughters, Hannah and Shara, their families, as well as the extended Farb and Morris families. She ensured that family came together for celebratory occasions and took the lead in rekindling long-lost familial connections. She lovingly cared for her aging parents and acted as a cheerleader for friends, family, and community members.
